Candle Care + Safety Tips
-
Before lighting, trim wicks to about 1/4 of an inch to prevent sooting and uneven burning. (this is required anytime you light a candle not just the first time!)
-
If you notice a large flame (bigger than 1" tall) during burning, blow out the candle & trim the wick before re-lighting.
-
Keep wick trimmings and foreign materials out of the candle container.
-
The first time you light your candle, let the melted pool of wax reach the edge of the container before extinguishing it. This will prevent tunneling and give you a longer burn time!
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Never move a hot or burning candle. Extinquish flame if jar or container becomes excessively hot.
-
Do not burn candles for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
-
Keep away from children, pets and drafty areas such as; vents, fans, and open windows.
-
Burn candles on a heat resistant surface and away from flammable materials (curtains, tablecloths, paper, etc.)
-
Do not burn multiple candles within 6 inches of each other.
-
It is recommended to stop burning candle when about 1/2" wax remains.
-
Use caution and take care when extinguishing flames.
